That said if you are holding 14 and the dealer is showing a King, you effectively must take an extra card as the odds of the dealer not holding a winning hand against your 14 is unlikely.

It is of course worth remembering that the house does always have an edge, even when perfect strategy is employed. But, you can reduce this edge by making a good selection when choosing which online casino to play at.
